And frightened populations struggle to understand whether humanity is witnessing a scientific anomaly, divine intervention—or something far more disturbing.
Walking unnoticed through the confusion is Cael, a weary angel who has lived in exile on Earth for centuries after breaking divine law. He knows what humanity does not: the dead are trapped because the connection between Heaven and Earth has somehow been severed. Heaven has fallen silent, and the souls of the dead can no longer find their way home.
Cael’s search for answers brings him together with Dr. Elara Voss, a rational scientist carrying unresolved grief over her mother’s death, and Pastor Jonas, a minister struggling to maintain his faith in a world where God appears to have stopped answering. Science, faith and the supernatural collide as the three discover that the phenomenon known as The Stillness may not be a disease or a miracle at all.
As governments attempt to control the crisis and others exploit fear for their own purposes, humanity begins turning against itself. Cael realizes that restoring the connection between Heaven and Earth may require more than understanding what went wrong. It may require humanity to rediscover something it has gradually forgotten—how to care, forgive and truly listen.

With more than two decades of experience across military aviation, electronic warfare, technical documentation, intelligence-related training, and instructional design, JC brings a combination of field knowledge and narrative discipline to his fiction. His U.S. Air Force career included electronic warfare and airborne systems, thousands of flight hours, and extensive experience working within complex military and aerospace environments.
